Finance and Accounting Analyst
The National Security Agency (NSA) carries out some of the nation's most important and sensitive intelligence activities. Knowledge of accounting and financial business practices is essential to enable NSA to continually conduct our mission efficiently and effectively.
The Directorate of Finance, specifically the Office of Accounting and Financial Services, is seeking highly motivated, creative, self-starting accounting and finance professionals to fill entry-level positions. The NSA is seeking articulate, creative, organized and outgoing team players to help shape, describe, defend, and execute payments, disbursements and administration of funding akin to that of a Fortune 500 company. Candidates will be responsible for any one or more of the following: preparing financial reports to various entities for the entire Agency budget; processing payroll for all Agency personnel; processing vendor invoices; processing Travel and relocation entitlements; verifying funding used for purchases of goods and services; accepting customer orders and processing them in the financial management system; disbursing payments and/or reconciling accounts. Financial reports are submitted to customers in the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community and Congress. Candidates selected must be well organized and flexible in order to assist the Accounting and Financial Services Office as they prepare for a full-scope audit of the agencies financial statements. The environment is fast-paced and candidates will work each day with high caliber accounting and financial professionals.
Qualifications
Entry is with a Bachelor's degree and no experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.
Degree must be in Business or a related field (e.g., Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or Public Administration) with at least 24 semester credit hours in accounting, business finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial marketing, marketing, quantitative methods, and/or organizational management.
Relevant experience must be in financial management (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, disbursements, reviewing and certifying funds, payroll and travel accounting).
Qualified candidates should possess background, skills and/or demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
*Basic Accounting Principles
*Business Finance
*Problem Solving
*Analytic Tools
*Process Management
*Accounts Payable or Receivable
*Payroll
*Financial Reporting
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is desired from an accredited college with at least 24 semester credit hours of study in Business in any of the following disciplines: Accounting, Business/Finance, Information Systems, Risk Management, and Economics. Applicants with equivalent work experience will also be considered.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary Range: $44,941 - $71,467
