The Principal of the Forestry Training Instituteis announcing training opportunities at Forestry Training Institute (FTI), Olmotonyi, Arusha for the academic year 2018/2019.Applicants will be required to have private or other sponsorships arrangements.
ANNOUNCED TRAINING COURSES:-
i) Basic Technician Certificate in forestry, one(1) year course, (NTA level 4)
ii) Technician Certificate in forestry, one (1) year course, (NTA level 5)
iii) Ordinary Diploma in forestry, one (1) year (NTA Level 6)
iv) Ordinary Diploma in Urban Forestry and Landscaping one (1) year course, (NTA Level 6)
v) Ordinary Diploma in Geoinformatics for Natural Resources Managementone(1) year course(NTA Level 6)
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:-
Basic Technician Certificate course
Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) with at least four credits (D and above passes). Among these passesone should be either in Biology or Geography or Chemistry or Physics or Agriculture science. Mathematics and English are added advantages to the applicant.
Technician Certificate Course
Holder ofAdvanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE)
Having aprincipal pass in any of the following subjects, Biology or Chemistry or Agricultural Science or Geography or Physicsand a subsidiary pass in any other subject.
OR Holder of Basic Technician Certificate in Forestry (NTA level 4)
Ordinary Diploma in Forestry NTA LEVEL 6
Must be a holder of Technician Certificate in Forestry (NTA level 5) graduated at Forestry
Training Institute (FTI) from the year 2012 on wards
Ordinary Diploma in Urban Forestry and Landscaping NTA LEVEL 6
Must be a holder of Technician Certificate in Forestry (NTA level 5) graduated at Forestry
Training Institute (FTI), Olmotonyi.
Ordinary Diploma in Geoinformatics for Natural Resources Management (NTA Level 6)
Must be a holder of Technician Certificate in Forestry (NTA level 5) from Forestry
Training Institute, Olmotonyi (FTI) or from any other related institutions.
TRAINING FEE:
Successful applicants will be required to pay training fee to the Principal amounting to Tshs. 820,000/= per year.
ACCOMMODATION
The Institute has limited and competitive vacancies, therefore any student wishes to live in the Institutes’ hostel must fill application form, signed and returned it to the Institute four weeks before new academic year start. The applications will be scrutinized and the successful and unsuccessful applicants will be informed.
The accommodation is charged at Tshs. 270,000.00 per academic year. The payment is to be settled in advance, at latest on the registration time. If the payment is overdue, the Institute is free to let the accommodation to others.
NB: Systems of fees payment
Training fee can be paid on installment basis meaning that half of the total training fee to be paid at the beginning of each semester.
(ii) Holder of Technician Certificate in Forestry (NTA level 5) graduated at
Forestry Training Institute (FTI) before the year 2011.
(iii) Holder of NTA Level 5 or 6 from related institutions recognized by NACTE, including; Beekeeping Training Institute (BTI) Tabora, Forest Industries Training Institute (FITI) Moshi, College of African Wildlife Management (CAWM) Mweka, other Institutions offering agriculture, animal health and crop production such as Livestock Training Institute Tengeru, Tengeru Agriculture College, livestock Training Agency Mpwapwa, Livestock Training Agency Morogoro, Livestock Training Agency Madaba and Kilacha Agriculture Training Institute, Moshi.
i. The fees are subject to changes at any time during the course when deemed fit.
ii. Accommodation and meals costs are the responsibilities of the sponsor or guardian or parents. Accommodation are not paid in instalment bases and meals per day will cost Tshs. 5,000/= or more.

i. Applicants will be required to apply online through the Web site of Forestry Training Institute, Olmotonyi. The website address is www.fti.ac..tz or //http://www.fti.ac.tz/index.php/online-application/ of which all the application is supposed to be sent through. The application will involve payment of Tshs. 10,000/= (ten thousands)and the funds shall be paid through the FTI, A/CNMB No: 40810041565 and the Bank slip should be scanned and uploaded online as well.
