APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION INTO DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Fisheries (Agriculture) is officially announcing applications for
admission into Diploma and Certificate programmes offered at the Ministry of Agriculture Training Institutes (MATIs) registered by NACTE for the academic year 2017/2018. Applicants who meet the minimum entry qualifications are invited to apply for admission by 30th June 2017 for Certificate program and 15th July 2017 for Diploma program. The following are the programmes offered at MATIs:
Courses
- Diploma in General Agriculture (NTA Level 5 to 6): applicant must have Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education with at least one Principal and one Subsidiary passes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics, and Agriculture.
- Diploma in General Agriculture (NTA Level 6(Upgrade): applicant must have passed Certificate in General Agriculture (NTA level 4-5) and must have passed at least three subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics and Agriculture with grade “D” in the Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Diploma in Land Use Planning: applicant must have Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education with at least one Principal and one Subsidiary passes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics, and Agriculture. OR Applicant must have passed Certificate in General Agriculture (NTA level 4-5) and must have passed at least three subject in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics and Agriculture with grade “D” in the Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education
- Diploma in Irrigation (NTA Level 5 to 6): applicant must have Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education with at least one Principal and one Subsidiary passes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics, and Economics. OR Applicant must have passed Certificate in General Agriculture (NTA level 4-5) and must have passed at least three subject in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics and Agriculture) with grade “D” in the Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Diploma in Food Production and Nutrition (NTA Level 5 to 6): applicant must have Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education with at least one Principal and one Subsidiary passes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Nutrition and Agriculture. OR Applicant must have passed Certificate in General Agriculture (NTA level 4-5) and must have passed at least three subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics and Agriculture with grade “D” in the Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Diploma in Agro mechanization (NTA Level 5 to 6): applicant must have Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education with at least one Principal and one Subsidiary passes in Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics, Economics and Agriculture. OR Applicant must have passed Certificate in General Agriculture (NTA level 4-5) and must have passed at least three subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics and Agriculture with grade “D” in the Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Diploma in Horticulture (NTA Level 5 to 6): applicant must have Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education with at least one Principal and one Subsidiary passes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Nutrition, and Agriculture. OR Applicant must have passed Certificate in General Agriculture (NTA level 4-5) and must have passed at least three subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics and Agriculture with grade “D” in the Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Diploma in Crop Production (NTA Level 5 to 6): applicant must have Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education with at least one Principal and one Subsidiary passes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, and Agriculture. OR Applicant must have passed Certificate in General Agriculture (NTA level 4-5) and must have passed at least three subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics and Agriculture with grade “D” in the Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Certificate in General Agriculture (NTA level 4 to 5): applicant must have at least three passes of grade “D” in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Mathematics and Agriculture in the Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education. English will be an added advantage.

Duly-filled form must be signed, attached with certified copies of birth certificate, academic certificates, transcripts, Bank pay-in slip of non refundable application fee of Tsh. 30, 000/= and send to the address of the Agricultural Training Institute(s) of the applicant choice(s).
